Vincent Tilanus is a Dutch writer and director known for intimate, character-driven stories about love, identity, and connection. His graduation film Bladgoud (2018) screened widely at international festivals, earning the Prix Amnesty International France at Poitiers. He gained international recognition with Marlon Brando (2020), which premiered at Cannes’ Semaine de la Critique, screened at TIFF, and became the Dutch submission for the Academy Awards. His follow-up, Heartbeats (2021), won the Golden Calf for Best Actress at the Netherlands Film Festival, and his television film En Iemand Anders (And Someone Else) premiered at the São Paulo International Film Festival. Tilanus is now preparing his first theatrical feature, The History of My Sexuality, based on the acclaimed novel by Tobi Lakmaker.
