​​​​Vincent Tilanus is a writer/director and photographer known for intimate, character-driven stories about love, identity, and connection. His graduation film Bladgoud (Gold Leaf, 2018), produced at the Netherlands Film Academy, screened internationally at major festivals and was awarded the Prix Amnesty International France at Poitiers. He gained international recognition with Marlon Brando (2020), which premiered at Cannes’ Semaine de la Critique, screened at TIFF, and became the Dutch submission for the Academy Awards. His follow-up, Heartbeats (2021), won the Golden Calf for Best Actress at the Netherlands Film Festival, and his television film En Iemand Anders (And Someone Else, 2025) premiered at the São Paulo International Film Festival. Vincent is now preparing his debut theatrical feature film, The History of My Sexuality, based on the acclaimed novel by Tobi Lakmaker. Vincent is based in Amsterdam.
